FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

Questions about the museum

Answers about satoshis, Bitcoin payment verification, privacy, moderation and participation in the Museum of Voluntary Satoshis.

What is a satoshi?

A satoshi, often abbreviated as sat, is the smallest unit of bitcoin. One bitcoin equals 100,000,000 satoshis.

Is this an investment or financial service?

No. The museum is an independent digital art experiment. Contributions are voluntary support and do not create ownership, returns, rewards or financial claims.

How is a payment verified?

The server checks public Bitcoin blockchain data for an output sent to the museum address and requires the configured number of confirmations before accepting a submission.

What information becomes public?

If a submission is approved, the collection may display the chosen name or anonymous label, message, contribution amount and publication date. Never provide private wallet credentials.

Why does a submission require moderation?

Moderation helps prevent abusive content, impersonation, spam and material that does not belong in the exhibition.

Can the museum prove who owns a transaction?

A public transaction ID proves that a transfer occurred, but by itself it does not prove the submitter controls the originating wallet. The project presents submissions as voluntary public claims, not legal identity records.

Does the collection remain online forever?

No permanent availability is promised. The project aims to preserve the exhibition, but it remains online only while the site and its infrastructure are maintained.
